a proposal

My very dearest best friend from college and my maid of honor at my own wedding just got engaged!!! I have been anticipating this proposal probably just as long as her, well probably not as long...but I have been waiting long enough! You see, she is marrying a pretty awesome guy...who basically saved our wedding reception. ha! Its an inside joke, but we love both of them so much!
 Well the other day, I got a surprise card in the mail and this is what I opened the envelope to see!

Here is the front of the card

Here was the back of the card

anddddd....the answer is YES! YES! YES!!!!! Isn't this one of the sweetest ways to ask someone to be part of your wedding day? I was soooo terribly surprised and excited all at the same time! Sophia has no idea what a flower girl is, but she hasn't stopped talking about it thats for sure. She keeps insisting that she needs to get 'her wedding dress' ready. : )

May- thank you soo much for asking us to be part of your most special day! We are beyond honored!! I can't wait to be part of your wedding planning and most of all pray for you during this whole process. I love you sister friend! PS: this better mean dark chocolate babies soon to follow.

Lauren Moffatt Fall 2012 {Fashion}

Lauren Moffatt is one of my favorite fashion designers! Her designs reflect a modern look with a vintage twist (its just perfection). I love the pretty details of this fall collection (sequins and lace). Everything she did about the Fall 2012 collection is perfect, but then again...all her collections are perfect. Did I really use the word perfect a gazillion times? Yes, I did..because it is perfect. Lauren... you always do it right! Check out this video. It gets me all excited for fall..

Happy Father's Day

 Happy father's day to all the hardworking, loving and supportive father's out there. I am truly blessed to have been raised and loved by this world's greatest dad. I have always grown up loving and feeling very loved by my own father. He worked very hard so that I may live a very comfortable life and never have I ever heard a complaint. He showed me a great example of what great manhood should look like. He spent many many hours working, but the few moments he took time to be with my brother and I were so special. I love you dad!

Therefore, I think I met my husband who sometimes in a weird way remind me of my own father. When I first met my husband, I found out that he was wearing the same pair of ugly, old, very run down Doc Marten shoes that my own father was wearing for years. I thought, it was fascinatingly weird and I couldn't believe I met someone who could possibly fit in my dad's shoes : ) But, if there is one common resemblance, it is the father's love that he shows to our two beautiful girls. These two daughter's definitely have a special bond and love for their dad that I (as a mother) can not even come close to. Sophia is daddy's little girl and when Zaylee gazes into her father's eyes..I see the way Mike melts. Too sweet.

Sophia is at the age where she loves the idea of a wedding. She looks at our wedding pictures everyday and says to me sometimes that she wants to marry her dad. Or better yet, she tells me "mom, i don't like you dancing with daddy" (when she see's the picture of us having our 1st dance)...she wants to be the only one in his arms, i'm sure.

Happy Father's day Mike! You are the most incredible dad to our girls! i love you!

life lately {via iphone & instagram}

Its been way too long since I've last blogged, but its been crazy busy around these parts. I have not had any moments in front of the computer at all. We have been house sitting for my parents, having birthday parties, friends visiting from out of town, sick kiddos, and lots of mini day trips out. I have been longing for days just to be at home and just be with my girls. Summer is definitely here in our home.

Sophia is officially 3 now and Zaylee 2 months old. These girls are getting bigger each day at a blink of an eye. We are plurging clothes from closets almost weekly of what doesn't "fit" anymore. Sophia shows interest in new things daily and just amazes me with her humor and personality. Zaylee is turning her little newborn body of her's into chubby solid rolls (my favorite). She is the sweetest and most joyful baby and always smiling. I cannot imagine my life any other way. My heart is so full.
